Season 4 Trailer (even more speculation and spoilers)

Now, the continuation of reckless assumptions and SPOILERS!

That is one tiny sept.

Here we see in the Goodly-Sized Sept of Baelor the work of season 3 come to fruition. Joffrey and Margaery become two hearts that beat as one. Girl, I hope you're on a donor list.
Heh.

In the trailer, Cersei says at this particular moment that she will do whatever it takes to protect her son, especially with the Tyrells. Book Joffrey isn't quite as bowled over with Margaery as TV Joffrey is, but I can see TV Joffrey cozying up to the Tyrells as to solidify his own power base against his mother and grandfather. Tywin's not above making Joffrey look weak to his own advisers and Cersei is constantly finding a way to stay relevant to him to keep Tywin from moving her on. This only adds fuel to her growing paranoia.

One of my favorite parts of the books is Jamie's growth from jaded, regicidal rich kid to someone who wants to restore people's faith in him. The golden hand reminds him of the catalyst for this change: the losing of his sword hand. Here, he's looking in the White Book, which lists the names and histories of all who wore the white of the kingsguard. Goes without saying, Aerys' death is included. Whether he succeeds or not, I think Jamie is going to rank up there with Jon, Robb, and Daenerys as someone that people will support and root for because each in their own way try to improve the lot of their prospective groups. He aims to try to better himself as Lord Commander and restore the kingsguard to its former glory.

Which could be the cost of his one true love...

Well, it's a start, Mance.

This looks to be Joffrey and Margaery's wedding feast, or maybe Loras and Cersei did get married! Finn Jones did say that Loras gets even more action this season! Maybe he fills in the role of Osney Kettleblack in a way that Cersei thinks that she control him through sex, thus controlling Margaery. This alarmed me so much last season that it's one of the things I'm looking to see quashed right away or played with some more.

I see you're still busy.

Anyhoo, we see a lot of Daenerys' slaves begin to riot in what I'm assuming to be Meereen. We also see the new Daario face off the Meereenese champion. She's going to have her hands full this season.

I was expecting to see a more haggard- looking Theon, given he's in the cruel hands of Ramsay. The guy who lost his lil' kraken last season seems barely nonplussed. They can't show everything in the show but I was looking forward to the Reek/Theon transformation. However, if Asha/Yara is trying to save him, the battle of Deepwood Motte between Stannis and the Ironmen must take place at Torrhen's Square instead.

This season will be the one were Sansa/Alayne gets the masterclass in how to play the Game of Thrones from Littlefinger. If Sansa wins back the North, I think Westeros will have a formidable Lady in the North. Now that she's had a taste of the south, I think she'll want to go back to the northern way of life. She's spent her life waiting to be the future wife of someone important. Not only has she found out that she's important but she has what it takes to get through plots and schemes. At what price though? Littlefinger plays a chaotic game and will not hesitate to start a war in order to save his own skin.

Well, that's more or less my thoughts for next season, which premieres April 6th.
