'Til We Meet Again

We started trivia this year with a surprise snowstorm and ended it with the promise of spring and good times to come. I can speak for all the guys that we had a great time becoming better friends with you all.

Although Harrenhal and Oates were the champs in the beginning, the return of Ramsay's Hunting Party and R'hllor Is My Co- Pilot took over the lead, Team Boy in second, and Harrenhal and Oates in third. We celebrated the last night by making sure everybody had a gift.

So thanks to all the teams for making our Sundays super fun and hope to have cooler things for you in the future!

When You Assume....

Trivia has happened.

As I was not there to observe it, a variety of outcomes could have occurred, from the mundane to the harrowing. Would could have happened? Did Lady Stoneheart appear with fearsome creatures to catpture the only Frey apologists amongst us?

Not only are spider pugs not canon, they're ridiculous.

Would a team pull a red trivia and are pretending to be the guys in their emails to me telling me things to lull me into a false sense of security?

"She's asking for a round? 'Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream..."
Or did Ramsay and R'hllor beat Fire and Lunch by a mere two points? Ha! The mere suggestion is laughable. And it appears to be the correct one, unless the evil LARPers are fans of Ramsay and R'hllor and this is an elaborate trap in aid of something.

All the same, see you next Sunday for the last night of trivia!

Riddles and Trivia

Not much to report but IT'S THE PENULTIMATE NIGHT OF TRIVIA NEXT SUNDAY!

That means it'll be a week until the premiere of the show, so regardless of how we feel about The Overshooting, the rest of the world will have caught up with us in our fervor... No longer shall we accidentally (or not) spoil someone, no longer shall we be annoyed by changes from the book, no longer shall we wonder what holds for our favorite characters, because we will have a gist of what's going to happen.

So to recap last Sunday, a specter of riddles hung over trivia as I decided to be further annoying and make people guess the prizes from the riddles I wrote. The prizes were a hand of the king seal kit ( which I was relieved to see y'all liked), a book of riddles based on the books, and this week's Funko doll, Tyrion in battle armor. This week's winners were R+R in first, Boy in second, and Harrenhal and Oates in third.

This Sunday marks the return of Geoff and the abscence of me and Savin. Who shall randomly sorta give away answers in my stead? Come this Sunday and I will see you next Sunday after!

Gods Be Praised!

7 teams!

I said the previous Sunday was the best, but this week was even better! 7 teams were in attendance, which should please the Seven Who Are One. Prizes included a catapault ( table-sized and new rule: no siege engines), a Game of Thrones card game, and a copy of the Iron King, a book GRRM considers to be a forerunner to ASOIAF. Ramsay and Rh'llor were the victors again with Theon's Hole in second and Harrenhal and Oates in third. As always, photos:

What's also fun is the great conversations we have with you guys! Some of them are fun, some are hard, and some are out-there, but it's only time some of us can talk about this little obsession of ours. So either in-person on Sunday or on the Facebook page, write/tell us your fave characters/theories!

Harrenhal and Oates are planning to play the Game of Thrones board game at Over The Eight at 3 PM before trivia that night. Let them know on the event page if you'll come to play!

The Heat Is On

Not really.

Spring remained a dream in Over-the-eighteros. We were warmed, however, by the return of teams Ramsay's Hunting Party, R'hllor is My Co-pilot, and Fire and Lunch ( dark-horsing as Mushroom's Follies). We also saw some mergers that night when R'hllor and Ramsay joined forces and Geoff's Australian friend Lindsey joined We Know Nothing Jon Snow. The balance of the past few weeks was  tipped in the favor of another team, Ramsay's Hunting Party feat. R'hllor is My Co-Pilot. They are the team to beat this Sunday!

Here are some photos:

Yeah, I was hungry.

Ah, back together again.

So we are hard at work writing questions, figuring out prizes, and finding some sort of meaning to this semi-charmed life. As always, trivia every Sunday at 6 PM up to the April 12th premiere. Join us next week!

Spring it on

Harrenhal and Oates killed it (with fire) sunday night for their second win, followed by Big Other and Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things. Also, Jake of Harrenhal and Oates provided us yet again with some tasty lemon cakes. I'm going to start a letter campaign to get GRRM to work in macaroons and chocolate chip cookies somehow. The three teams had three prizes to choose from: a Tywin Funko doll (H&O), a Living Language Learn Dothraki (Big Other), and a Stark direwolf print (CB&BT).

Don't forget to join us again next week for what promises to be a tough round of trivia!

Here are some photos:

First Night

My, oh, my, did the old gods have their way with us this Sunday.

We did not get the triumphant return we expected due to the snow, but we will rise stronger this Sunday for the second night of A Trivia of Ice and Fire!

That night, we heralded the return of teams Pants Rayder, Harrenhal and Oates, and We Know Nothing Jon Snow. Not all of Cripples, Bastards, and Broken Things could make it, so from the ashes of that team rose The Last Heroes. Two new teams were created that night, Big Other and The Fair and Maiden Bears.

Through out the night, Harrenhal and Oates held on strong to the lead with The Bears and the Know-Nothings holding to second and third. Prizes this previous Sunday were a copy of the world book, a Dunk and Egg comic, and first edition Samwell Tarly Funko doll. What proved to be a big hit was Savin's 3D printed Hand insignia, bookmarks featuring the sigils of Houses Baratheon, Stark, Lannister, and Martell, and model of Winterfell.

While we put the finishing touches on this upcoming Sunday's trivia, don't forget to add yourselves and friends to the event page.
