Something Happened, Something like...SPOILERS

So, everyone got what they wanted on Sunday: Sigur Ros! Joffrey didn't like them (much prefers Nickelback), but Lady-ahem, Queen Margaery seemed mighty interested in the bootgazing Jonsí. Girl, you sure know how to pick 'em.

Broken gaydar notwithstanding, this episode set up the tone perfectly for this season. Everyone's a choking king step away from killing one another. One key theme for this season is Cersei fucking up. She overturns Margaery's food proclamation out of jealousy.  Oberyn gets dangerously close to fightin' words with Tywin and Cersei, who was stupid enough to think he sit there and take it. I loved Ellaria's response to Cersei's Sand comment: "There are 10,000 of us, we are everywhere." Oberyn's not-so-subtle reminder that the Martells still have Myrcella puts them in their place, though. Brienne gets bullied about by Cersei, who couldn't make Ned's accusations more obvious than by bullying someone for being in love with her brother. She much more approves of the miserable bond Sansa and Tyrion now share.

Ah, what else am I missing here...

Actual serious book reader moment here: I was a little put off with the Oberyn/Loras shipping attempt. I know that the animosity between the Reach and Dorne hasn't been played up in the show but it was somewhat alarming to see them flirt. It is full of potential, though. I think they're going to be caught in bed together and embarrass Cersei in the process.  Your foster's paramour, the Queen's future husband, all in a day's work for Oberyn Martell.

Of course, all of this was topped off with that HBOGo worked at the bar! Geoff, Steve D, Gavin, and I watched the episode in the privacy of the back room, munching on the delicious fare from Santa Maria. With quality control done, we can safely say that viewings will be back on, with the caveat being that hotly anticipated episodes might be difficult to watch and may view later than usual. We are planning for the finale that trivia will start an hour later, so that we aren't competing with the rest of the city/state/nation/continent(?) to watch it.

So, what did everyone else think?
